Mykonos Nightlife and Entertainment Guide - Discos, Beach Bars, Cafes, Local Festivities on Mykonos Island Greece

The island of Mykonos (Myconos, Mikonos) is probably most well-known for its incomparable nightlife. It is the ideal destination for party animals and barhoppers, who can find an endless variety of nightlife venues such as bars, clubs, gay bars, discos and cafés that play both foreign and Greek music.

For a stimulating evening of dancing and partying, the best places in Mykonos Town (Chora) are Paradise Club, Tropicana Beach Bar and Cavo Paradiso Club as well as the gay bars, Pierros and Porta. If you are in the mood to dance samba and rumba, you should definitely go to El Pecado. The most popular nightclub in Mykonos Town (Chora) with live Greek bouzouki music is La Notte, which has a live band and singers; this is the Mykonos nightlife in Greek way! Another Greek music club is Thalami. Mykonos by night is a unique experience... Nightlife in Mykonos is ending in the morning!

Anchor and Argo cater to the aficionados of blues and classic rock, while classic music lovers can spend their evening at Kastro and Montparnasse. More relaxing cafés and bars include Veranda and Galeraki.

Mykonos is also famous for its local delicacies, such as kopanisti (locally cultured cheese), black-eyed beans, fresh seafood (such as mussels and sea urchins), sausages, “louzes” or smoked pork, soumada (the locally produced beverage) and almond sweets, which you can try at the countless seaside tavernas and restaurants. We suggest dining at Nikos Tavern and Tropicana Restaurant.

Although going to the movies does not seem like a popular activity during your holidays, catching a film at the outdoor movie theater Cinemando is a wonderful summertime experience.

For a taste of traditional Mykonian entertainment, we suggest you attend the festivals and fairs that take place during the summer months such as the Fishers Festival of Agii Apostoli on June 30th and the Panagia Tourlianis Festival on August 15th.
