Aegina (Egina) Island is located in the Saronic Gulf, a short distance from Piraeus. It is a 35-minute hydrofoil trip and an hour and fifteen minute ferry boat ride from the port of Piraeus. Aegina Villages

Apart from the charming Aegina Town (Hora), with its interesting architecture, narrow streets and seaside cafés, the island has many other villages you can visit. Paleochora, the old capital of Aegina (Egina), is an abandoned town with 28 churches that have exquisite wall paintings, and a ruined medieval castle. The fishing village of Perdika attracts many visitors who stop to have a meal at the seaside fish taverns located on the bay and to admire the view. The settlement of Souvala is famous for its spa and the therapeutic properties of its waters. Agia Marina is a popular seaside resort with a sandy beach and a lush pine tree forest. The small island of Agistri, located opposite Aegina, offers golden beaches and isolated rocky shores that are ideal for fishing and swimming.

Aegina Nightlife

Aegina Island is also famous for its outstanding night life. In Aegina Town and the neighboring settlements there are c ountless cafeterias, bars, tavernas, restaurants and night clubs that stay open till dawn for every age and taste.
